Mac Warner is a constitutional conservative Republican, family man, and sixth generation West Virginian who has spent a lifetime promoting American ideals of freedom and liberty across the globe.

Committing his career to service when he graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Mac served in hotspots around the globe, from Panama, Haiti and Peru, to Bosnia, Ukraine and the Middle East. During his 23-years in the military, Mac graduated West Virginia University's College of Law and earned two Master of Law Degrees -- one in Military Law from the Army Judge Advocate General's School and a second in International Law from the University of Virginia Law School.

In a continuation of his service to West Virginia and his country, Mac was elected in 2016 as West Virginia’s 30th Secretary of State, defeating a two-term incumbent.

Secretary Warner's overseas experiences taught him that a vibrant, free market economy occurs only when clean, fair elections and a predictable court system under the Rule of Law create a safe environment where investment can flourish. He is enthusiastic about building such an environment throughout all of West Virginia.

In his first year as secretary, Secretary Warner’s signature victory and most proud accomplishment was cutting bureaucratic red tape on registering businesses in our Mountain State. He launched a One Stop Business Center that includes the Secretary of State’s Office, Tax Department, Labor Department and Workforce WV under one roof -- a feat that hadn’t been accomplished anywhere in the country until now.

Mac and his wife of 38 years, Debbie, raised their four children in Monongalia County where Debbie is a Realtor. The Warner children are all past or present officers in the U.S. Army. Steven Warner is a former Captain, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with a Bronze Star and Purple Heart from Afghanistan; Captain Krista Warner Cook is a Physician Assistant, US Army Reserve Medical Service Corps, with duty at Fort Richardson, Alaska; Captain Lisa Warner Miller is a former US Army Adjutant General Corps officer, 82d Airborne Division, FT Bragg, NC; and Captain Scott Warner is in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 173d Airborne Brigade, FT Bragg, NC.
